A ski trip with friends, a wedding in another city, an airport transfer for business guests or a holiday with two families – in situations like these, one big vehicle is more convenient and cheaper than two separate cars. 9-seater minibus rental in Poland lets you carry the whole group and all the luggage in a single vehicle, and you can drive it on a standard category B car licence. Who is a 9-seater minibus a good choice for?

A 9-seater minibus has three rows of seats, and every passenger gets a full-size seat with a seatbelt. It is most often rented by:

  • groups of friends heading off skiing, to a festival, a concert or a stag party,
  • multi-generational families or two families travelling together on holiday or for Christmas,
  • companies organising a team-building trip, a team business trip or an airport transfer for guests,
  • sports teams and bands travelling to competitions or gigs with their equipment,
  • wedding guests who want to travel to the celebration together and get back home safely.

With every seat taken, the cost of fuel and rental split between nine people is usually lower than train tickets – and you travel together, door to door, without having to fit around a timetable.

What to keep in mind when driving a 9-seater minibus

A minibus drives much like a large passenger car, but there are a few differences worth remembering:

  • Dimensions – a minibus is longer, wider and taller than a car. Watch out for low underground car parks, gateways and multi-storey car parks.
  • Parking – use the parking sensors and mirrors, and if in doubt, ask a passenger to help you reverse.
  • Crosswinds – the tall body is more sensitive to gusts, especially on bridges and exposed stretches of motorway.
  • Braking distance – a fully loaded minibus needs more room to stop. Keep a bigger gap to the vehicle in front.
  • Seatbelts – all passengers must wear a seatbelt, including those in the third row.
  • Breaks – on long journeys, stop every 2 hours and, if possible, swap with a second driver.

A 9-seater minibus or two cars?

For a group of 6–9 people, a minibus almost always works out better:

  • you pay for one rental instead of two,
  • you burn fuel in one vehicle instead of two,
  • you pay for one parking space and one motorway toll,
  • the whole group travels together, so there is no need to arrange stops or keep track of a second car.

If there are 6–7 of you with little luggage, a 7-seater will do, such as the Toyota ProAce City Verso, Dacia Jogger or Nissan X-Trail. To move furniture or goods, choose a van from our van rental range instead.
